Position Overview
We are seeking a Director of Bar Association Strategic Alliances to build and manage relationships with small and medium-sized county and specialty bar associations. This part-time, fully remote role combines relationship development and business development to expand LawQi's reach within the organized bar community.
This position is ideal for someone currently employed part-time in a leadership role within a voluntary bar association who is looking to expand their influence, career, and AI leadership while supporting their existing bar responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Relationship Development & Partnership Management
- Identify, develop, and cultivate strategic relationships with leaders at county and specialty bar associations
- Serve as primary liaison between bar association leadership and LawQi's CEO and technology team
- Build trust-based relationships with bar executives, board members, and key decision-makers
- Maintain regular communication to ensure partnerships meet member needs and identify expansion opportunities
Business Development & Revenue Generation
- Present LawQi's member benefit offerings to bar association leadership
- Identify pathways to partnership agreements that provide value to both bar members and association revenue goals
- Execute relationship-building strategies and convert prospects into active partnerships
- Collaborate directly with CEO on partnership terms and implementation
Market Intelligence & Feedback
- Gather insights from bar associations about member needs and market trends
- Provide feedback to internal teams on partnership experiences and market opportunities
- Stay informed on developments in the legal profession and bar association initiatives
- Help refine LawQi's approach based on real-world partnership experiences
Program Implementation & Support
- Coordinate partnership launches and member onboarding processes
- Support bar associations in promoting LawQi benefits to their members
- Handle partnership renewals and relationship maintenance
- Problem-solve partnership issues and ensure member satisfaction
Ideal Candidate Profile / Essential Qualifications
- Current part-time leadership role within a voluntary bar association (this insider perspective is crucial)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience working within bar association operations, governance, or leadership
- Deep understanding of how bar associations operate, make decisions, and serve their members
- Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Self-directed work style with excellent time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in business development, partnership management, or sales (legal tech experience a plus but not required)
- Familiarity with AI applications in legal practice (or strong willingness to learn)
- Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership (preferred but not required)
- Experience with virtual relationship building and remote collaboration

Position Details - Schedule & Commitment
- 10-15 hours per week with flexibility to accommodate existing bar association responsibilities
- Fully remote position with no travel requirements
- Flexible schedule that works around candidate's primary bar association role

Compensation
- Structured as base hourly rate plus commission
- Significant commission opportunity: 15-30% based on contract size and terms
- Compensation structure designed to provide substantial upside for successful partnership development
- Earning potential scales directly with your success in building valuable partnerships
Reporting & Collaboration
- Report directly to LawQi CEO Colin Lachance
- Work closely with supporting technology team
- Regular communication and feedback sessions with leadership
